Concentrated German presence at New Delhi subcontractor fair

From 6 to 9 February 2014 Dörken MKS-Systeme was present at the Auto Expo 2014 – Components in New Delhi. The company joined 18 further German automotive suppliers in the German pavilion, a joint venture between the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA). Dörken and the other companies used their presence to establish new contacts in the growth market of India and further extend the network of German companies operating in the country. The German automobile technology presented on the stand was state of the art. In addition to technical performance, the focus was also primarily upon aspects such as economy, efficiency and environmental friendliness.
Despite the current fall in car sales in India, German manufacturers see enormous opportunities on the subcontinent in the long term. “The German car industry believes in the great potential of the car market in India, in spite of the economic challenges that the country has to overcome,” stated VDA boss Klaus Bräunig at the fair. One highlight was the visit of the Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Brigitte Zypries, who was accompanying German President Joachim Gauck on a visit to India and Myanmar as head of a 15-member business delegation. During her stop in New Delhi she took the time to visit “her” companies on the German stand. She was welcomed by VDA Managing Director Klaus Bräunig, Dr. Martin Welp, Managing Director of Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG, and Onnen von Bredow, Vice President Asia Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG (from left to right).
