Description:

Current market opportunities and the latest corrosion protection systems were the focus of this year’s Dörken Days Brazil, held in Sao Paulo on 28 June 2017. Over 40 licence partners from coating companies and all key automobile manufacturers in the country – including Daimler, Volkswagen and Ford – accepted the invitation of service unit Dörken do Brasil and experienced an interesting trade programme.

Optimistic outlook for the Brazilian market

Managing Director Martin Welp began by detailing the current market situation in Brazil, pointing out the difficult economic situation at present. Despite the political changes in the largest South American country, the order situation remains critical. However, for Dörken MKS Brazil remains a highly promising market with great future potential. Dr. Martin Welp also explained the successful implementation of the worldwide certification and licensing system of Dörken MKS-Systeme in Brazil and the successful establishment of a reliable partner network. Dr. Welp: “In this way we can establish a binding and consistently high coating quality for the long term.”

High-performance zinc flake systems for truck and trailer

The focus of the papers that followed lay upon latest developments in surface protection for truck and trailer components. David Wawrzynczok, head of the Project and Process Management team at Dörken MKS, introduced the firm’s current coating systems for major components, explaining the requirements of different truck specifications. Robinson Bittencourt Lara, Applications Engineer for the Brazilian market, presented the DELTA-PROTEKT® KL 120 zinc flake system in combination with the DELTA-PROTEKT® VH 301.1 GZ top coat – high-performance surface protection for highly stressed parts and components in the truck and trailer market. The corrosion expert went on to point out that, “Dörken MKS has products in all of the relevant specifications and satisfies all requirements with regard to surface protection.”

Alongside the conference programme there was also time to exchange experiences and network with one another.
