Groupe PSA specifications fulfilled!

Description:

A new challenge is overcome: following intensive research and extensive testing, the zinc flake system from Dörken MKS has been included in the specifications of the Groupe PSA car company and can now be used to coat the latest generation of hybrid brake discs.

Highest corrosion protection requirements

Background: Groupe PSA – the initials stand for Peugeot Société Anonyme – is a venerable French automobile manufacturer with the brands Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel. In 2016 the group was no. 3 in Europe for worldwide vehicle sales, behind Volkswagen and Renault. Dörken MKS-Systeme had already met the previous PSA specifications for the coating of brake discs.

Intensive development work

In 2015 Peugeot altered the specifications in the course of developing new brake systems and special hybrid brake discs. The developers at Dörken MKS subsequently set to work, testing many different product variations for the PSA hybrid brake discs – and with success. Once again, a zinc flake system ultimately proved to be the ideal solution – with just one coat and a coat thickness of 15 µ. The high-performance base coat is compatible with all Dörken MKS top coats and achieves an excellent corrosion protection effect.

Well placed for all market requirements

Our PSA specialist at Dörken MKS, Sylvie Becht, says: “Fulfilling the PSA specifications opens up new potential for us, because the newly-developed specifications for hybrid brake discs also include the classic brake discs. This means we are optimally placed for all corrosion protection challenges in the future.”
